Astra Film Festival in partnership with IGCAT (International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) are pleased to invite the festival audience to a showcase presenting the winners of this year's Food Film Menu Competition.
The Food Film Menu is a short-film competition organised by IGCAT that aims to raise awareness about the importance of cultural and food diversity in averting climate change and improving community well-being. Through the Food Film Menu, IGCAT recognises the vital role that the audio- visual sector plays for promoting sustainable practises, local food products, local food recipes and traditions related to regional gastronomy.
Through its worldwide network of experts, IGCAT aims to empower local communities by raising awareness of the importance to safeguard and promote distinct food, culture, arts and sustainable tourism assets. IGCAT provides the Region of Gastronomy Award and is the official secretariat for the European Region of Gastronomy Platform. Furthermore, the Institute has developed the European Young Chef Award, the Local Food Gift Challenge, the Top Visitor Experience and the Food Film Menu.
